ServiceNow Polaris/Next Experience Theme Generator

Nice little utility I created to easily change the theme in Polaris/Next Experience. I modeled this after the Basic Configuration UI16 Module.

See how it works

If there is enough demand for this, I will publish it to the ServiceNow share.

Update: I published v1 to the ServiceNow share. It can be downloaded here.

After installing the update set, you might need to clear your cache (in the filter navigator, type cache.do) and logout/login, in order to see the new module. If you still don’t see the module, try opening your instance in an incognito window.

To use:

In the filter navigator, open the module Basic Configuration Polaris.

Set your desired Primary, Secondary, and Neutral colros and click save.

Wait about 10 seconds (for the backend processes to finish) and then refresh your browser and enjoy your new theme.

    1. Hi Masi,
Thanks for testing this out. Can you go to the User Preferences table and let me know how many preferences you see for glide.ui.polaris.theme.variant ?

      instanceName.service-now.com/sys_user_preference_list.do?sysparm_query=name%3Dglide.ui.polaris.theme.variant&sysparm_view=

Also, try impersonating another user and see if you have the same issue.

      Thanks,
      Mike

    1. Thanks for the comment. I’ll work on packaging this into an update set for people to import into their instance.
I’m going to do a little more testing first on San Diego & Tokyo but so far it’s been working great in both versions.

      2. That’s a great idea! I didn’t look into that yet but that would be a nice add on (ability to change the logo and size/padding of the logo).

I tested this on San Diego and Tokyo and I haven’t had any issues. Let me know if you have any issues. Please test in your PDI first before installing in your company instance.
